If you
are pressed for time, make brownies according the recipe on
the box and add walnuts and white chocolate chunks. If desired,
you can frost the top and decorate with whole walnuts. No one
will know unless you tell them!
Double
Chocolate Walnut (or Pecan) Brownies
- 2 sticks
margarine
- 4 squares
unsweetened chocolate
- 2 c.
sugar
- 3 eggs
- 1 tsp.
vanilla
- 1 C.
flour
- 1-1/2
c. coarsely chopped nuts
- 1 pkg.
(6 oz) semisweet chocolate chips
Melt butter
and chocolate in saucepan. Remove from heat and beat in sugar
gradually until combined. Add one egg at a time; then add vanilla.
Add flour, stir. Stir in 1 c. nuts. Spread in greansed 13x9"
pan. Combine remaining 1/2 c. nuts with chocolate chips and
sprinkle over top. Press lightly. Bake at 350 degrees for 35
minutes or until toothpick comes out clean. Cool and cut.
Butterscotch

- 3/4
c. flour
- 1 tsp.
baking powder
- 1/2
tsp. salt
- 1/2
stick butter
- 3/4
c. firmly packed brown sugar
- 2 eggs
- 1 tsp.
vanilla
- 1/2
c. chopped nuts
- Coconut
topping: 1/4 c. butter
- 1/2
c. firmly packed light brown sugar
- 1 c.
shredded coconut
Combine
flour, baking powder and salt. Set aside. Melt butter and remove
from heat. Stir in brown sugar until blended; beat in eggs and
vanilla. Add flour mixture and mix thouroughly. Pour into 8x8"
baking pan. Bake at 350 degrees for 30 minutes or until top
springs back when pressed. Remove from oven and set oven to
broil. Spread coconut topping over warn brownies and place 3"
under broiler for 3 minutes or until lightly browned.
