Remember
the average drink has 1 oz. of liquor, plus the mixer. If you
purchase a quart of liquor you should have enought for 32 drinks.
Spanish
Lemonade
- 3/4
c. sugar
- 6 lemons
- 1 qt.
dry red wine
- 1 qt.
dry white wine
- fresh
mint
Remove
the peel from three lemons, using a serrated knife or a vegetable
peeler.(Do not remove the white pith.)Place sugar in a heavy
saucepan. Squeeze the three peeled lemons for juice and strain
juice before adding to saucepan. Place over low heat to dissolve
the sugar, stirring occasionally. Set aside to cool. Slice the
remaining three lemons into 1/4" slices. Place slices and
sugar mixture in a large glass jug. Add both bottles of wine
and refrigerate for at least 4 hours or overnight, stirring
occasionally. Add just the leaves or small springs of mint to
the lemonade, stirring well.
Champagne
Punch
- 1 c.
black currant liqueur (creme de cassis)
- 2 T.
lime juice
- 3 to
4 T. haney
- 1 at.
chilled cranberry juice
- 1 bottle
of chilled champagne(750 ml.)
- 1 -
12oz. bottle of chilled seltzer or soda water
Mix together
the liqueur, lime juice and honey in a punch bowl. Add cranberry
juice. Chill until ready to serve. Just before serving, add
the champagne and carbonated water. Add ice cubes if desired.
Sangria
- 2 bottles
(750 ml.) red wine
- 1 c.
orange juice
- 1/4
c. lime juice
- 2/3
c. sugar
- 1/2
c. orange-flavored liqueur
- 2- 12
oz. bottles chilled club soda
- ice
cubes
- orange
slices
- lime
slices
Combine
wine, orange and lime juices and sugar in a large pitcher or
punch bowl. Stir until sugar is dissolved. Add liqueur and chill.
Just before serving, add club soda, ice cubes, orange and lime
slices.
